PORTLAND, ME: In a unanimous vote at United Insurance’s annual shareholder meeting in December, Zack Frechette was elected the next President and CEO, effective January 1, 2021. He will be continuing the leadership trajectory of Chris Condon to ensure United Insurance’s success as the region’s fastest growing independent and privately owned insurance agency. A graduate of The University of Maine, Zack spent the beginning part of his career in the Massachusetts marketplace, working for an insurance agency and then a commercial insurance carrier. Zack joined United in 2013, after returning to Maine. Zack has served as Vice President and Agency Manager and most recently as the Chief Operating Officer for United. In this new role of President and CEO, Zack looks forward to leading the company while preserving a commitment to its customers, employees, communities, and the carrier partners it represents.
With roots going back four generations and 150 years, United Insurance is a trusted partner for the people and businesses of Maine and New Hampshire. In order to ensure the continuation of this great legacy, the ownership structure has changed. Effective January 1st, 2021 the company was purchased by the minority shareholders. The current shareholders are Zack Frechette, Patrick Gaetani, E.J. Dorsey, Peter Clavette, Chris Miller, Travis Duval, Ryan Madore, and Tim McGonagle. The selling shareholders were Chris Condon, Scott Kent, Ed Therrien and Alan Michaud who continue to support and contribute their time and expertise to the organization. With Zack and the team carrying the torch forward, United Insurance will continue to serve the communities where they live and work.
