As the Director of Community Engagement, Donna has found a career that is profoundly rewarding on several levels. HR professionals have an opportunity to share the professional and personal lives of their co-workers. With the best interest of her co-workers at heart, Donna begins by listening intently to their concerns. A full understanding of those concerns allows Donna to offer support in a variety of ways.
As part of the management team, Donna has played a key role in supporting 7 acquisitions and the transition of three leadership teams through United’s ownership perpetuation plan. In addition, she has collaborated with the leadership team to design employee benefit programs that reflect the needs of the employees while finding cost effective solutions for the organization. Balancing the obligation to represent UI’s best interest while advocating for employees is a challenge commonly faced by HR. During these times, Donna relies on her strong skills in relationship building and sound business principles.
