For decades, United Insurance has shown its commitment to Greater Portland’s youth by sponsoring the Portland Boys and Girls Club Patriot’s Day 5-Miler. On April 21st, at noon sharp, Maine’s top running talent will take to the city streets for the 85th running of Maine’s oldest road race. Proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club Alumni Scholarship Fund, which aids college-bound club members. This year, the race will also donate a portion of each entry fee to the One Fund Boston in memory of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing victims. We believe that every child deserves a chance at a great future, and the Boys and Girls Club provides that opportunity for local youth who may not have the same support at home.
