Edmund Therrien

Ed is Senior Vice President and Transportation Director for United Insurance. Previously, he was a partner, but remains on the Board of Directors. His current responsibilities include oversight and management of their transportation group, mentoring a group of younger producers, and growing the transportation book.

Ed began his insurance career in 2003 as a Commercial Lines producer for the Hayden/Perry Agency in Presque Isle. In 2005, Ed created the transportation group within Hayden/Perry. It has grown over the last 16 years to include 4 other United Agencies and is now the largest truck group in Maine.

Ed earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maine. He also holds the Certified Insurance Counselor Designation as well as other designations within the transportation industry.

Ed has served on the Loring Development Board of Directors. He has served as Chairman on the Maine Motor Transportation Association Board where he now leads the executive committee.

Ed is married to Julie French, and they have an adult son, Gannon, who has recently joined the Insurance world. Ed enjoys cycling, skiing, and traveling.
