Timothy McGonagle

Tim joined United Insurance in January 2014 during the acquisition of the O’Hearn Insurance Agency. Tim is a Partner and Senior Vice-President working at our Portland location. He is responsible for sales production as well as staff training and development. Tim’s work is focused on property insurance for real estate owners and investors including Apartments, Retail, Office, and Industrial properties. He also works with many different types of businesses including restaurants, contractors, food manufacturers, and professionals. In addition, Tim actively works with clients on Life Insurance planning.

Tim is a 1992 graduate of Cheverus High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Maine, where he earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in English. Following graduation, Tim worked in the travel industry in Portland before beginning his insurance career with New York Life in 1999, after obtaining his Life and Health license. Tim joined O’Hearn Insurance in 2001 after obtaining his Property & Casualty License. Tim holds his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designation and holds the Certified Insurance Counselor Designation (CIC).

Tim currently serves as President of the University of Maine Southern Maine Alumni Chapter and is a trustee on the Cheverus High School Board. He is also serves on the Board of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Southern Maine Landlord Association.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys RV Trips, skiing, golf, and real estate investing. Tim and his wife Bridget reside in Yarmouth with their children, John, Mollie, and Sadie.
