United Insurance recently donated funds to aid in the fundraising process to help keep Bigrock Mountain alive. The Maine Winter Sports Center’s decision to turn the ownership of the Mars Hill, Maine, ski area over to the community has also meant unexpected expenses for the region. At this time, Bigrock has secured the money needed to purchase the operation of the ski area, but its operating cost needs still have not been met.
