“Accelerating Action” on this International Women’s Day.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Accelerate Action,” and we’re proud to share how well those two words describe the last twelve months here at United Insurance. Since last International Women’s Day, when we said, “a bright future means more accomplished and confident women like Nikki Knowles in management roles and leadership positions to help us build on our accomplishments.” We’ve made significant strides in the promotion of women throughout our organization through hiring, training opportunities, employee recognition, and career development efforts.

On this International Women’s Day, we’d like to celebrate all the talented women who make up United Insurance including those who work behind the scenes, those highlighted last year, and the talented women below who raised the bar for ALL our team members.

Laurie Cyr, Commercial Lines Account Manager, in our Madawaska office has been with United Insurance since 2006. Her natural ability to help others made her an exceptional choice for a promotion to a floater position. In addition, Laurie is taking part in our data integration team while working closely with the training team on supporting our Commercial Lines staff, traveling to our locations, and sharing her expertise in assisting other team members.

Danika Bates, Agency Manager of our Farmington office, has provided exceptional client service since 2017 and was a natural choice to oversee our newly created Small Business Service Center.

Amanda Tjalsma, established herself as a Personal Lines insurance expert, trainer, and mentor to many team members across the organization. As a result of her hard work and dedication, she was recently promoted to Agency Manager of our Auburn location.

Nicole Knowles, Agency Manager of our Rumford office and Account Executive, has proven her ability to oversee daily office operations, manage the needs of her clients and take on the additional role of co-leading our newly created Surety Team, alongside Rebecca White and Kasey LeClerc.

Stephanie Morse, Vice President of our Employee Benefits Department, is a respected leader known for her exceptional client relationships, determination and attention to detail. In 2024 she was named one of United Insurance’s top sales producers and was an easy choice to be featured in one of our new testimonial videos.

In addition to the talented women highlighted above, we caught up with United Insurance’s first female Chief Financial Officer Tammy Volock and Chief Operating Officer Deb Wentworth. To learn more about their inspiring stories, and career path to joining United Insurance, click here.
